What’s in My Summer Bag
👜 What’s In My Summer Bag
Hey, it’s KK,
I don’t know about you, but I love a good “what’s in my bag” post — not because I’m carrying anything groundbreaking, but because I really believe what we carry says something about who we are, where we’re going, and what we’re prepared for (or not 👀).
This summer, my bag is less “overpacked for every possible emergency” and more “simple, cute, and sun-season ready.” So here’s a peek at what’s coming along with me lately — from park walks to iced coffee runs to spontaneous day trips.
☀️ The Bag Itself
I’ve been carrying a simple crossbody from Target (scored secondhand for a steal 🙌), and I love it. It’s lightweight, effortlessly cute, and totally fits my summer vibe without trying too hard. Bonus points: it holds way more than it looks like it should... which is an underrated quality in a bag, if you ask me.
🧴 1. SPF — Non-Negotiable
Sun protection is a big deal to me, especially this time of year. I keep a mini bottle of Badger's Adventure Mineral Sunscreen (SPF 50) with me at all times. Even if I “already put some on,” odds are I forgot to reapply 😅.
Bonus: it’s water-resistant for up to 80 minutes, 98% organic, cruelty-free, and Protect Land + Sea certified. Iconic.
💋 2. Lip Balm + Tinted Gloss
My summer personality is 50% hydrated, 50% glowy. I usually have at least two floating around — one plain and one with a pop of color, just in case I want to look like I really have my life together.
📱 3. Phone + Earbuds
Self-explanatory, but non-negotiable. Whether I’m listening to a podcast on a walk or playing music while journaling in the park, these are always with me.

🕶 4. Sunglasses
Not just for the sun... but also for the drama 😎. I keep a pair in a little soft case so they don’t get scratched. And yes, they make me feel approximately 10% more like Audrey Hepburn.

📖 5. My “Current Read”
Right now, I’m making my way (slowly but surely) through The Book Thief. It’s one of those stories I want to feel my way through. I love having a book in my bag for quieter moments or when I want to scroll less and sink into something meaningful. Although this one doesn't quite fit into my bag, I still take it with me wherever I go.

📝 6. Mini Notebook or Journal
Sometimes a thought hits me out of nowhere — a quote, a blog idea, a prayer — and I need to write it down. I always keep a small notebook and pen nearby just in case.
🧴 7. Hand Sanitizer + Hair Tie
The unsung heroes of every bag. Not exciting, but definitely missed when they’re not there.

🍬 8. A Little Snack (Obviously)
There’s almost always a granola bar or bag of almonds floating around — because being hangry is not the summer vibe I’m going for.

✨ Final Thoughts
My summer bag is a lot like me — practical, full of good intentions, and just a tiny bit chaotic if you dig too deep. But it gets me through the day... and I kind of love it for that.
What’s in your summer bag? Tell me your non-negotiables — and no judgment if it’s five lip balms and three receipts from last week. We’ve all been there.
’Til next time,
KK
